During the renovation work on the building complex, the continual search for harmony with the surrounding environment found expression in the selection of the most appropriate finishings (flooring, lighting, tone of textiles, etc), to create an atmosphere of total wellbeing.

Each of these rooms is decorated with a different colour scheme, and the beds inside are king size (180 cm). In addition to the set of courtesy items, bathrobes and towels are provided for the wellness area. Guests staying in the superior rooms are entitled to an exclusive, limited offer that includes wellness treatments. Massage
The use of massage therapy as a way to eliminate fatigue, alleviate pain, relax and allow for an easier application of oils and ointments to the skin, is lost in the passage of time. It probably represents the oldest form of medical treatment.
Sauna
The sauna eliminates toxic substances, through perspiration, water and by increasing the activity of the sebaceous glands. The increase in body temperature has beneficial effects on the muscles, which relax and reduce tension.
Wellness centre
'The wellness centre of Villa Valfiore is spread over much of the gardens, in an area specially designed and built at the time the Villa was renovated. Illuminated by large lightwells and furnished in Zen style, with white pebbles and amphorae, the wellness area can be reached straight from the rooms. The area has been carefully studied to guarantee a complete remise en forme, and includes two cabins devoted exclusively to massages and bodycare treatments, as well as a relaxation area with soft lights and a soothing atmosphere.
Guests can shake off stress in the Finnish sauna, built in wood throughout and scented with essential oils and balms, perhaps after a dip in the swimming pool, or just when they feel like pampering themselves a little. And then there is the splendid multi-sensory shower, where colour therapy is combined with natural aromas, delicately sprayed over the body along with droplets of water, to give the skin back just the right amount of moisture.

Breakfast room
Restaurant
'A large open brickwork barrel vault, in the same shades in which the restaurant is decorated, creating a country-style air that is attractively sophisticated at the same time. A cosy, welcoming atmosphere, enhanced with antique oriental furniture, where guests can find some of the cellar’s fine vintages, which naturally represent the renowned vineyards of the surroundings hills of Bologna.
Local products also feature on the menu, which focuses on the flavours typical of the surrounding area and the fresh produce grown there, offering guests from the Villa and diners from outside the hotel a range of traditional Emilian specialities, alongside the finest dishes from Italy’s culinary heritage.
Just like the restaurant, the bright, airy breakfast room is located in what was originally a wine cellar, and looks onto a side courtyard. A particularly fine English-style breakfast is served here, featuring first-class produce.
The informal atmosphere created by the ivory-coloured sofas and tables is warmed by the fireplace in the winter and brightened by the sunshine in the summer. It is in this season that one of the exclusive features of the relais hotel really comes out into its own: the spacious outside patio, which is bathed by sunshine throughout the morning. Shielded by the surrounding gardens, breakfast on the patio is an ideal, invigorating start to the day, as well as the ideal place to recharge your batteries with a mid-morning coffee enjoyed amid the greenery.

Meeting rooms
'Three areas in Villa Valfiore are devoted to meetings and events. There is a 70 square metre room with seating for forty and equipped for lessons of all kinds, offering microphones, laptop, video projector, DSL internet access, printer, fax, board and DVD player. Located in a strategic position close to the car park and the breakfast area, this is the first room guests come to as they come out of the garage.
The same equipment can be found in the large room that links the Villa with the guest quarters, the large windows of which look onto the gardens.
This bright room is particularly versatile, because it can be used in three ways, depending on the event held and the number of people taking part. The whole room can be used for up to eighty people, but it can also be divided into two areas, each with a capacity of forty. If required, the room can even be used by as few as 10 people, seated around a large boardroom table.
Whatever the solution chosen, the Villa is ideal for meetings and conferences regardless of whether the participants are staying in the Villa or come from outside it. The three rooms are suitable for events, training courses and encounters and lessons. For all-day events, the adjoining breakfast room is perfect for coffee breaks, during which guests can stretch their legs with a stroll around the park.
A technical assistant can be provided upon request, either for the first hour of the meeting or for as long as it lasts.
